Aims of the Teaching Performance Index (TPI)

The Teaching Performance Index aims to:

  • Recognise and reward the efforts of teaching staff to improve the quality of instruction, feedback and learning environments and the achievement of excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Improve the overall quality of teaching and learning, particularly in undergraduate courses with large enrolments.
  • Raise the public and external profile of the University so that Curtin is renowned for effective teaching.
  • Foster a culture of scholarship that informs teaching and learning.
  • Stimulate and reward efforts that align with the University's key drivers for improvement e.g. professional development, use of the eVALUate teaching evaluation tool.
