Successful (funded) Curtin University ALTC Projects

Background:

The Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) Grants scheme was designed to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in higher education, to facilitate innovation and collaboration and to disseminate best practice. The four programs available in 2011 included:

In late 2011 the ALTC closed and on 16 November 2011, Senator the Hon Chris Evans announced the establishment of the Office for Learning and Teaching (OLT). The OLT has funding of $50 million over four years through the Promotion of Excellence in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education Program. The OLT promotes and supports change in higher education institutions for the enhancement of learning and teaching. Due to the recent changes in the Ministry, the Office for Learning and Teaching is now part of the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education.

In 2012, $8 million (indicative) has been allocated to Grants programs to provide funding for academics and professional staff to investigate, develop and implement innovations in learning and teaching.
