Assuring English Language Proficiency: The Curtin Strategy
Early in 2011, Curtin executive ratified an overarching strategy for the development and measurement of student English language proficiency.
This strategy strengthens existing practices and identifies future activities that will form a multifaceted set of initiatives. The components of the overarching strategy are:
The implementation of this strategy will be managed by the Office of Assessment, Teaching and Learning, advised by a Steering Committee which includes representation from all teaching faculties.

UniEnglish
UniEnglish is designed for students whose first language is not English. It is an online tool to assess their strengths and weaknesses in English, and is optional, free, confidential and automatically marked. The Curtin University UniEnglish website also contains English language resources, activities, and support information.
