Assessing Learning in Australian Universities
This project was commissioned by the Australian Universities Teaching Committee (AUTC) and undertaken by R. James, C. McInnis, and M. Devlin of the Centre for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Melbourne. The 64-page booklet is downloadable. Resources available from the website include case studies of good practice, tips for new staff, and information on subjects such as plagiarism, and assessing group work, and international students.
Communication in Context (pdf file - 141 pages)
In 1997, with the assistance of a grant from the Commonwealth Staff Development Fund, a number of Curtin staff undertook projects aimed at improving teaching and learning of communication skills. This volume reports on the outcomes of these projects. Edited by Alex Radloff.

Training, Managing and Supporting Sessional Teaching Staff
This project was funded by the Australian Universities Teaching Committee (AUTC). It is intended for university administrators and managers, heads of department and heads of schools, course/subject coordinators, supervisors of sessional teachers and sessional teachers. While some of the resources on this site are relevant for anyone concerned with the management, training or support of sessional teachers, other resources are tailored for specific audiences, such as the teaching ideas page, which is expressly included for sessional teachers and their supervisors.
Student Evaluation of Learning and Teaching (eVALUate)
eVALUate prompts students to reflect on their learning at the unit level. The instrument asks the student to reflect on two key aspects of their unit experience: what helped you to achieve the unit learning outcomes and what hindered you from achieving the learning outcomes?
