Examination Information for BLW21/BLW22/MT531/MT564

For each of these units there are two examinations; a mid-study period examination and an end of study period examination. You must register for each of these examinations before you are eligible to sit for them. There are different forms and instructions to follow to register depending on where you live, so please read the following instructions carefully.

Perth Metropolitan Area

If your residential postcode falls in the range 6000-6210 (or you live within 60km of Perth city centre), you are required to sit your examinations for BLW21, BLW22, MT531 and/or MT564 at Curtin University of Technology, Bentley Campus.

You must submit a separate invigilation form for each examination by the due date. This means that you must submit two (2) forms for each unit you are enrolled in.

Mid-Study Period Exam Form
End of Study Period Exam Form

Many students prefer to submit both their mid and end of study period exam forms at the same time by the end of Week 2, so they don't have to remember to submit one later in the study period for their Final Exam. You might like to do this too.

Important:

  • You must complete and send your forms to the Examination Officer to register for the examination.
  • A confirmation email will be sent to you once your form is received. If you have not received this confirmation at least two (2) weeks prior to the exam date, please contact the Exam Officer immediately on 61 8 9266 2106 or by email to OUAExams@curtin.edu.au.
  • Payment of $40 is to be made on the day (in cash, or by a cheque or money order made out to Curtin University of Technology).

Sydney or Melbourne Metropolitan Area

If you live within the Sydney, or Melbourne metropolitan areas (refer to the postcode guide below), you must sit both your mid and final examinations at Exambiz.

Curtin University of Technology is not affiliated with Exambiz and the University does not receive any portion of the exam fee.

To sit your exam with Exambiz, you must register on their website by the due date. You need to register for both your mid and final examinations individually, however you can do this in one transaction.

To register:

  1. Visit the Exambiz website at http://www.exambiz.com.au/ and read the information on booking methods.
  2. Login or Register to the site.
  3. Make a booking for your examination. You can pay your invigilation fee by credit card (MasterCard or Visa only) online at the time of booking or follow the instructions for paying by cheque or money order.
  4. Note: You can pay for all exams for one study period with one single payment.
  5. You will receive a confirmation email from Exambiz. YOU MUST PRINT YOUR CONFIRMATION EMAIL AND TAKE IT WITH YOU TO THE EXAM WITH PHOTO ID.

Queensland

If you reside in Queensland you are encouraged to sit your examinations at Learning Network, Queensland (LNQ) (http://www.lnq.net.au/). If you are unable to do so, you may nominate your own invigilator.

To register for your examination, either with LNQ or with your own nominated invigilator, please follow the instructions given for Other Locations.

Curtin University of Technology is not affiliated with the Learning Network, Queensland and the University does not receive any portion of the exam fee.


India

You must submit a separate invigilation form for each examination by the due date. This means that you must submit two (2) forms for each unit you are enrolled in.

Students residing in India must sit their examination at one of the centrally located examination centres listed below.

Instructions:

  1. Select the Exam Centre nearest to you from the list below.
  2. Click on the links above to download the India Examination Forms.
  3. Contact the Exam Centre by phone to register.
  4. Submit your completed exam forms to the Exam Centre by the due date.
  5. The Exam Centre will notify the Examination Officer of your registration.

Invigilators can be:

  • University or TAFE lecturers or examination officers;
  • Justices of the Peace;
  • Commissioners of Declarations;
  • Librarians;
  • School principals or deputy principals;
  • Police officers;
  • Minsters of Religion; or
  • Other suitably qualified persons.

Your invigilator must not be a close friend or relative. Should you have any problems obtaining an invigilator in any of these categories, contact the Examination Officer at Curtin University of Technology without delay on 61 8 9266 2106 or by email to OUAExams@curtin.edu.au.

The Unit Controller may use his/her discretion to fail a student for cheating if it is considered that the integrity of the invigilation procedures has been breached or to order the student to sit the exam paper in the next study period under another invigilator in order to properly assess that student.

Instructions for registration of examination:

  1. Print both a mid-study period and end of study period form.
  2. Ensure your chosen invigilator is aware of the date and time of the examination before they sign the form. Refer to the exam timetable.
  3. Complete all sections of the form with your invigilator, ensuring it has been signed and a work email address has been provided by your invigilator. Post or fax the completed form to the Examination Officer.
  4. You will be sent confirmation by email that your chosen invigilator has been approved (or not). If you have not received this confirmation at least two (2) weeks prior to the exam date, please contact the Exam Officer immediately on 61 8 9266 2106 or by email to OUAExams@curtin.edu.au.
  5. If you are unsure whether your invigilator is a suitably qualified person, please contact the Examination Officer before submitting your form to avoid unnecessary delays. It is expected that any acceptable invigilator would provide an email address at their place of employment by which verification can occur.
