Services and objectives
The Office of Teaching and Learning provides support for the Teaching and Learning Enabling Plan. The following initiatives will be given priority in 2008:
- Implement curriculum renewal and course review process through the Curriculum
2010 project and communicate progress to staff and communicate progress to staff.
- Review and improve student assessment, moderation and the timeliness of feedback.
- Develop and implement Curtin online learning strategies to enhance flexible learning
and improve quality and access to learning materials.
- Ensure Graduate Employability is the focus of the student experience (from student
recruitment to beyond graduation), and particularly a focus for the learning outcomes
and assessment of every course. Enhance our focus on our current graduate
attributes, and consciously emphasise their employment-related aspects.
- Enhance, clarify and enable the roles and responsibilities of Deans of Teaching and
Learning, Course Coordinators, and Unit Coordinators.
- Implement strategies to improve the quality of teaching in large classes.
- Implement strategies to support students 'at risk' of not achieving satisfactory course
progress
